How Complaints are Resolved

Complaints raised about our members are addressed in accordance with the Ontario College of Teachers Act. There may be several stages in the resolution process:

  • intake
  • investigation and/or complaint resolution if applicable
  • hearing.

We receive complaints from three sources:

  • the public, including College members
  • the Minister of Education
  • the College Registrar (acting in the public interest).

Note: for reasons of confidentiality, we do not comment on any concerns, complaints, investigations or the complaint resolution process.
