Temporary certificate program expanded to address Ontario's continuing teacher shortage

The Government of Ontario has created new regulations that expand the existing temporary certificate program. The changes increase the number of teacher candidates who are eligible to apply for a temporary certificate.

The temporary certificate is a limited time, emergency measure, designed to address severe teacher shortages in Ontario’s public school system related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
