Linda Lacroix, OCT is the next CEO and Registrar of the College

College Council has appointed Linda Lacroix, OCT, as CEO & Registrar of the Ontario College of Teachers. Her term will begin on January 1, 2023.

Linda is a seasoned educator with more than 30 years of experience in the education sector, most recently as the College’s Interim Deputy Registrar.

Prior to joining the College as Director of Investigations & Hearings in 2020, Linda held several leadership positions, including Director, French Language Teaching and Learning Branch at the Ministry of Education.

College approves 2023 budget

The College’s Council approved the budget for 2023 at their meeting on December 8. The budget includes the membership fee, which has been set at $200.

The new fee reflects inflation and is necessary to fulfill our mandate, meet increased operational needs, and retain minimum funding in our reserve.

If your membership fee isn't payroll deducted, please pay the College directly. You can pay by credit card or debit through your bank, via E-Services at oct.ca, or by cheque.

Payment of the 2023 membership fee will be accepted from December 19, 2022, to April 19, 2023.

Convert your Temporary Certificate into a General Certificate of Qualification and Registration

Do you hold a Temporary Certificate expiring on December 31, 2022, but have not yet converted it into a General Certificate of Qualification and Registration (CQR)?

If you have completed your teacher education program, please convert your Temporary Certificate into a General CQR.

You can also request an extension of your certificate's expiry date to June 30, 2023.

Profile: Anne Resnick, Chair of the Investigation Committee

Anne Resnick is the former deputy registrar and director of conduct of the Ontario College of Pharmacists. In 2021, she served on the Ontario College of Teachers' Discipline Committee during the transition to our new governance model.

Anne’s current term of office with the College started on January 1, 2022.
