Awareness of professionalism in teaching

The College continues to raise awareness of the critical importance for Ontario Certified Teachers (OCTs) to adhere to The Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, our Standards of Practice. This commitment to teacher professionalism applies equally to government and employer policies and protocols:

OCTs should consult their employers’ policies to ensure that they know and follow the expectations and obligations in their particular workplaces and communities.” (Essential Advice for the Teaching Profession, 2020)

This information is also included in all of the College’s professional advisories, which provide advice to teachers on a variety of topics.
